DPRK, ROK to form joint teams in 4 sports at 2020 Tokyo Olympics

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Republic of Korea (ROK) will form joint teams to compete in four sports at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Delegates from the DPRK and ROK held talks with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Friday. They agreed to have unified teams in women's basketball, women's field hockey, rowing and judo in Tokyo.
The 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, ROK, witnessed players' joint efforts in women's ice hockey. And the 2020 Tokyo games will be the first summer Olympics to have unified teams from the two Koreas.
Also, during the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, players from joint teams under the title Korea (COR) participated in women's basketball, rowing and canoeing. They claimed their first gold in the canoeing women's traditional boat race 500-meter event, two bronze medals in both women's 200-meter and men's 1000-meter dragon boat, and one silver medal in women's basketball.
