The stage is set for the upcoming 2018 Asian Games as leading athletes from the continent are gearing up for the quadrennial sporting spectacle.
A total of 11,300 athletes from 45 National Olympic Committees will compete in the Asian Games set to be played from August 18 to September 2. The athletes will compete in 465 events across 40 sports and 67 disciplines. Most of the venues are currently in the final stages of commissioning in preparation to meet athletes from various countries and regions.

The opening ceremony will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium which has a capacity of 76,000 seats. Rehearsals for the opening ceremony were held at the stadium on Saturday afternoon, and track and field competitions will also be held there.
With the main stadium as the center, a number of venues, including for swimming, basketball, volleyball and other popular events, will be unveiled.
Badminton is Indonesia's national sport subject. The 58-year-old Senayan Stadium has witnessed many major events in the world's badminton arena. The men's and women's badminton team finals will be held on August 22, with five individual gold medals concentrating on August 27 and 28.
