Hulk double goals in vain to save Shanghai SIPG

Shanghai SIPG were hosting Kashima Antlers of Japan in the second leg of their AFC Champions League round of 16 tie. Hulk struck twice for Shanghai SIPG but Kashima Antlers advanced to the AFC Champions League quarter-finals with a 4-3 aggregate victory.
CSL leaders SIPG lost 3-1 in the opening leg in Japan, the Shanghai side scored an early goal to reduce their deficit and they get it just seven minutes in courtesy of Hulk who made it 1-0 for the hosts and 3-2 for Kashima on aggregate.

However in the 42nd minute, the J-League side pulled even when Shoma Doi converts a deft back heel, it’s 1-1 in the second leg and 4-2 on aggregate.
Nonetheless, Hulk stepped up and scored the kick to put Shanghai up 2-1, and the game finished in a 2-1 win for SIPG, that saw Kashima advance to the quarter-finals 4-3 on aggregate, ending Shanghai's run in the continental competition.
