Chinese President Xi Jinping attended a welcome ceremony hosted by his Philippine counterpart Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday. 

President Xi is in the Philippines on a two-day state visit, the first by a Chinese head of state to the Southeast Asian country in 13 years.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two state leaders are expected to discuss the future course of Sino-Philippine ties and upgrade pragmatic cooperation across the board.
