Two people were killed, and over 50 others were wounded after two separate road accidents occurred on two expressways in southwest China's Guizhou Province on Saturday, according to local media.
One accident occurred around 8:00 p.m. local time, when some 70 vehicles piled up on the Shiqian section of the Sinan-Jianhe Expressway. Meanwhile, another accident involving over 40 vehicles took place on the Shiqian section of the Jiangkou-Weng'an Expressway, said local media.
The two accidents occurred due to slippery roads as the temperature plunged after the rain.
Among the injured, 10 were reportedly in critical condition.
Local authorities have evacuated over 200 travelers who were stranded due to the accidents.
The traffic on the expressways has resumed.
