China made their second clean sweep of women's ski aerials at the third stop of the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup in Minsk on Saturday. Xu Mengtao claimed the title with 87.77 points and her compatriots Xu Sicun and Shao Qi were second and third respectively.
Shao, who registered 86.31 points in the first round, didn't win a medal in the stop in Moscow earlier this month, hoping for a better outcome in Belarus. Xu Sicun, who finished fourth in the Russian capital last week, finished with 79.69 points on her first run.
One of the favorites was Laura Peel who made a poor landing in her first attempt, and the Australian only managed 59.53, failing to reach the second round of the competition.
Xu Mengtao was the last skier in the opening round. The 28-year-old won a bronze medal in Moscow and sat on top of the overall table with 160 points after the previous two events. She finished with the same score as Shao, meaning all three from China reached the final.
The 2014 Sochi Olympic silver medallist had a better performance in her second round, during which she clinched 87.77 points to secure her second gold medal of the World Cup of this season.
Her compatriots also finished well and followed behind to win silver and bronze. It's the second time the Chinese ladies have dominated this event after Xu Mengtao, Shao and Xu Nuo did the same in the season-opener last month.
