Chinese President Xi Jinping and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas congratulated each other on Tuesday over the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral ties between the two countries. 

China and Palestine have cooperated in various fields and obtained fruitful achievements, Xi said, hailing the long history of friendship between the two sides. 

President Xi said China highly appreciates the development of relations with Palestine and is willing to push forward the friendly collaboration. 

The Chinese side will promote the Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations and continue to play an active role in achieving a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue, Xi added. 

For his part, Abbas said he is deeply proud of the traditional friendly relations between the two countries. 

Palestine highly appreciates China's outstanding and important role in supporting the Palestinian people, Abbas added. 

Abbas said he will continue to attach importance to and promote the development of Palestine-China ties in order to benefit the two peoples and realize a common vision. 

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah also exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion. 

Li expressed his hope that the Palestinian people will realize their dream of independent statehood at an early date. 

Hamdallah said Palestine is willing to continuously strengthen as well as expand bilateral relations and cooperation with China to achieve common interests.
