Republic of Korea (ROK) President Moon Jae-in will send a special envoy to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) next Wednesday to discuss the next inter-Korean summit and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, according to Yonhap.

ROK's presidential Blue House said in a press release that the special envoy will travel to the DPRK's capital city of Pyongyang, noting Moon has yet to name the envoy.

The DPRK side accepted the offer in a telegram sent in the afternoon, Yonhap said.

The special envoy will discuss a wide range of issues, including the specific date for the upcoming inter-Korean summit between Moon and top DPRK leader Kim Jong Un, according to reports.

Moon and Kim agreed to hold their third summit meeting in Pyongyang before the end of September. The current leaders of the two countries met in April and May each.

Following their April summit in the border village of Panmunjom, Moon and Kim signed the Panmunjom Declaration in which they agreed to completely denuclearize the peninsula, stop all hostile acts and increase exchange between the two countries.
