Hundreds of birds were killed as heavy rainfall with strong winds and hailstorm lashed northern India on March 3. Officials said they have counted around 590 egrets, 360 parakeets and 152 crows. These dead birds were examined and cremated in compliance with the necessary guidelines. The hailstones weighed about 40 to 50 grams. Many farmers in the surrounding areas have also suffered crop loss due to the hailstorm.
