With the week-long National Day holiday falling in the golden autumn, the Ulan Butong grassland in north China's Inner Mongolia has also welcomed its most beautiful season of the year.
Located in Hexigten Banner of Chifeng city, the grassland is about 450 kilometers away from the Chinese capital Beijing. The area is highlighted by grassland, lakes, deserts, wetlands and forests. The plants there include spruces, white birches, as well as burnet, calami and spiraea.

There are many different kinds of birds living there, including the Mongolian larks, whooper swans, great bustards, which are among the country's highest level protected birds. Red deer, roe deer and foxes are among the mammal species.
In autumn, the grasslands would take on a golden color. With the tree leaves either turning red and yellow or remaining green, the Ulan Butong grassland usually turns into a colorful scenic spot that attracts many visitors.
