Hosts Shangdong Luneng were held 1-1 by Jiangsu Suning in the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Saturday, with the goals coming from Italians as Graziano Pelle's penalty for Luneng was matched by Eder's free kick.
Fourth-placed Luneng, fresh from eliminating Suning four days ago to advance to the quarterfinals of the Chinese FA Cup, struggled along with visitors to create chances.
In the 61st minute, Pelle was dragged down by Li Ang who received a yellow card. Pelle converted the penalty to put the hosts on top.
