Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will coach the club again on May 26 in a reunion game against the Bundesliga's Bayern Munich at Old Trafford, the club announced on its official webpage on Friday. The event is being hosted by the Manchester United Foundation.
"I'm really looking forward to what will be a special day at Old Trafford. It will be great to catch up with some familiar faces and a great opportunity to support the work of Manchester United Foundation," said Ferguson.
The game will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Manchester United's 1998-99 season, wherein the club won the Premier League title, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League. Both United and Bayern will play their legend squad in the game and raise funds for the Foundation.

On May 26, 1999, the Red Devils faced Bayern at Camp Nou for the top honor of European club soccer. Bayern took the lead from the beginning thanks to a goal by Mario Basler and kept that lead until stoppage time. Then in the following three minutes, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored two consecutive goals for Manchester via corner kicks, helping the club take the miraculous victory.
Richard Arnold, group managing director of Manchester United and chairman of the Foundation, said: "The '99 Treble is one of the most important and historic moments in Manchester United's story, with a team made up of some true legends of the game… so many of those names to be returning to Old Trafford to celebrate the anniversary of that momentous achievement, is testament to Manchester United Foundation and the work it does in our community."
