A 5.3-magnitude earthquake hit Gongxian County of Yibin City in southwest China's Sichuan Province at 08:48 a.m. (0048 GMT) on Thursday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was recorded at a depth of 15km.
