Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilization, which opened today at the China National Convention Center in Beijing.
Xi said to respect the beauty of other civilizations and build a more wonderful future together.
“Every civilization is the crystallization of beauty and every civilization is the beauty of creation,” President Xi said. “There is no conflict between each civilization, we just need an eye for the beauty of each and everyone.”
“We should not only make our own civilization full of vigor and vitality but also create conditions for the development of other civilizations so that all the world's civilizations will flourish," Xi said.
Under the theme "Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Asian Civilizations and a Community with a Shared Future,” representatives from 47 Asian and other invited nations are participating in the event.
The conference includes thematic forums, an Asian culture carnival and Asian Civilization Week.
