Scott Morrison is considered to be a fast riser in his political career. He became a member of the House of Representatives in 2007, representing the Division of Cook in New South Wales for the Liberal Party. After the party was elected to lead the government in 2013, he was appointed the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection. In late 2014, he was named the Minister for Social Services by Tony Abbott, before becoming Treasurer under Turnbull in 2015.
