Hong Kong has entered a new era by officially joining China's national high-speed rail network, the chief executive of the special administrative region (SAR) Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said on Saturday, when the region's first high-speed train came into service, crossing the border to Guangdong Province on the Chinese mainland.
