The Republic of Korea (ROK) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) held a ground-breaking ceremony on Wednesday for a joint project to reconnect and upgrade trans-peninsula rail and road links. ROK President Moon Jae-in and DPRK leader Kim Jong Un committed to the project at a summit in September. The ceremony took place at Panmun Station in the DPRK town of Kaesong.
