China and the U.S. kicked off a new round of high-level talks on Wednesday morning in Washington to address their differences on outstanding economic and trade issues. Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, United States Trade Representative (USTR) Robert Lighthizer, Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin and the delegations attended this high-level economic and trade consultations. The talks, scheduled for two days, mark a significant step in the implementation of the important consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on December 1.
