US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Thursday that the United States, the Republic of Korea and Japan have agreed to continue their efforts for complete, verifiable, irreversible denuclearization (CVID) of the Korean Peninsula.
"The Singapore summit is a 'turning point' in bilateral relations between the US and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)," Pompeo said in his remarks during a televised press conference in Seoul after meeting with ROK Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha and the visiting Japanese foreign minister Taro Kono.
Trump-Kim summit in Singapore on Tuesday achieved positive results, yielding a joint statement covering issues that included a pledge from the DPRK to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, opening a new chapter for both sides.
