Police in northeast China’s Dalian city recently cracked down on an illegal hunt for 100 spotted seal cubs. 62 cubs that survived the trauma and malnutrition will be returned to the sea in the next few months. The spotted seal is the only seal species that breeds in China's sea waters and is under second-class state protection.
