Japanese women's badminton team won the title of the 2018 World Team Championships for Women (the Uber Cup) by defeating the host Thailand with 3-0 in the finals on Saturday in Bangkok. It is the first time for a country other than China, Indonesia and South Korea to win the champion since 1984.
The defending champion, Chinese women's badminton team, shared the bronze with South Korea after being knocked out by Thailand in the semifinals, failing to enter the finals for the first time in 34 years.
