ISIL militants seem close to defeat as civilians pour out of its last patch of territory in eastern Syria. Eighteen trucks carrying men, women and children left the remote village of Baghouz in a convoy of dozens of trucks. Some 300 ISIL militants are believed to be holed up in the enclave in the village, along with several hundred civilians. Nearly 20,000 civilians had left the area in recent weeks before the evacuation was halted when militants closed all roads out of the area.
