The death toll in the Haiti earthquake rose to 15, and the number of injured rose to 333 on October 8. The 5.9-magnitude earthquake on October 6 also destroyed 7,000 houses. Its epicenter had a depth of 11.7 km and was located about 20 km northwest of the city of Port-de-Paix. Authorities are helping the victims.
