Under conditions for China to have stable trade growth, the impact of China-US trade war would be limited, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said in a report released on Monday.
"In the first three quarters of 2018, the trade growth was smooth in general, the structure was continuously optimized, the momentum was accelerated, and the quality and efficiency of development were steadily improved," the MOFCOM said in a report reviewing China's trade performance from January to September.
The report also pointed out that China's trade contains new development potential, although the external environment the country's foreign trade will face in 2019 is likely to become increasingly severe and complicated.
Despite the China-US trade war, China's exports to the US keep growing, thanks to the growing demand in the US markets and the complementary economic structure of the two countries. Both previously signed contracts and preparation for the peak season in the fourth quarter supported the bilateral trade so far.
