President Xi Jinping called on China and Turkey to strengthen cooperation and share development opportunities in a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday.
The two leaders held talks on the sidelines of the Group of 20 (G20) summit in Argentina's capital Buenos Aires.
China supports Turkey's efforts to achieve stable development, Xi said, adding that China is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Turkish side, jointly oppose protectionism and unilateralism, and safeguard the common interests of emerging market countries.
Erdogan said he is very happy that the relationship between the two countries has continued to develop. The Turkish side looks forward to close high-level exchanges with China and highly appreciates the Belt and Road Initiative, said the president.
Turkey is willing to deepen economic, trade, investment, aviation and tourism cooperation with China within the framework of BRI, and to strengthen communication and cooperation with China in international and regional affairs, he added.
