The 35th Annual Plenary Session of the InterAction Council kicks off in Beijing on Friday. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the meeting, saying the three-day event will help all parties to expand their consensus on improving the global governance system.
Xi said that China is willing to work with other countries and the international community to improve the global governance system and jointly create a better future.
The world is facing major changes, he said, adding that strengthening global governance and improving the global governance system are the tasks facing all countries.
He emphasized that China has always followed the principle of building a better global governance system through consultation and collaboration with other countries.
China has firmly supported multilateralism, actively promoted the construction of new international relations and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, Xi said.
The Chinese president said that the InterAction Council has made great efforts in exploring solutions to the global challenges and played a positive role in maintaining world peace and promoting common development.
The meeting is hosted by the InterAction Council, with the Chinese Association for International Understanding as its Chinese partner.
The InterAction Council, an international non-governmental organization, composed of some former world leaders, was established in 1983 and aims to put forward suggestions and solutions for global political, economic and social issues.
