World No. 7 Neil Robertson from Australia swept China's Lu Ning 6-0 to join hands with Stuart Bingham into the last eight of the Xingpai Group 2019 World Snooker China Open on Thursday.

Robertson showed no mercy in the afternoon session to make breaks of 100 and 75 points, eliminating Lu Ning in six frames to order a quarterfinal berth.

"I would have done that to anyone, pretty much against any player in the world today," said Robertson whose nickname is "The Melbourne Machine".

"I was very prolific today and scored very heavily and punished all of his mistakes. It was almost a perfect performance for me," Robertson said.

"He did not play really well. And snooker is like that. It's why it is such a tough sport because there's nothing you can do. Your opponent is at the table and you're sitting in the chair," the Australian commented on his opponent. "But he's a much-improved player. That's a very good result in two seasons. I am sure he will bounce back and learn from this today."

The 2015 World Championship winner Stuart Bingham, who just made 147 on Wednesday, shrugged off Rod Lawler 6-1 to meet Jack Lisowski in the quarterfinals.

Lisowski cut the 2-4 deficit and came from behind to beat Li Hang from China 6-4. Including Lu Ning and Li Hang, all four domestic players waved goodbye to the tournament on the same day. Liang Wenbo lost to Sam Craigie 6-2, and Lyu Haotian was defeated by Ben Woollaston 6-4.
