The world's oldest painting has been discovered in East Kalimantan, an Indonesian province on Borneo, scientists have revealed. The red depiction of a bison-like creature, at least 40,000 years old, is the earliest known colored image of a figure. The dramatic discovery adds to mounting evidence that cave art did not arise in Europe as long believed.
