China defeated Haiti 2-1 in their opener, but then lost 2-0 to Germany. Head coach Peter Bonde held a meeting to summarize that defeat and asked players to forget the loss and to focus on the upcoming match with Nigeria.
The Chinese women had three days to make the necessary adjustments, and have been working hard to prepare for the must-win contest against the African side. China's coaches have been analyzing today's opponents with whom they are even on points, but only behind on goal difference, so it's to win or to go home for China.
