In an article posted on Wednesday, ESPN’s Tom Haberstroh wrote that All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins who recently suffered a torn left Achilles may return to the court for the Golden State Warriors as soon as November.
Haberstroh said that based on the 19 cases of the injury he has studied, the average time required for recovery was nine months, much earlier than many had anticipated, meaning that Cousins might be able to play for the Warriors on November 17, unless he chooses to be cautious and delay his return.

Cousins tore his left Achilles during a regular-season game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Houston Rockets on Jan. 26 after scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. On Jan. 31, he had the surgery that officially ended his 2017-18 season.
Since the surgery, Cousins has been working hard on his recovery and posted a video of himself jogging on a treadmill in June on social media platforms. By the end of June, Cousins posted another video of him practicing shooting.

After free agency opened, Cousins accepted a one-year 5.3-million-US-dollar deal from the Warriors. “Once he's healthy, he'll start. He's going to start once he's fully healthy and ready to roll,” said Steve Kerr, Golden State’s head coach to The Mercury News on July 7 when asked about Cousins’ health.
“Of course it's going to take a lot of hard work, a lot of hard work and dedication, and also a lot of sacrifice from not only myself but other guys on the team as well. That's something that we all are aware of and that's something we accepted already,” Cousins said to reporters at the NBA Summer League on the same day, according to the Associated Press (AP).
