Russia on Wednesday confirmed airstrikes were carried out on Syria's Idlib with four planes targeting the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front militants on Tuesday, Russian media quoted the defense ministry as saying.
Russian planes bombed locations in Idlib Province that were confirmed to be terrorist targets, far from populated areas, the ministry said.
Planes involved in the attack had taken off from Russia's Hmeymim air base in Syria, it said.
