Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday met with US Defense Secretary James Mattis in Beijing, stressing the importance of China-US relations. Mattis arrived in Beijing on Tuesday for a three-day visit at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wei Fenghe. It is the first visit of a Pentagon chief to China since 2014.
