By Yan Yan, Shao Cong

The extensive transport network that is part of the Belt and Road Initiative continues to promote connectivity.

Taking railway transportation as an example, China Railway Express has run 10,000 trips, transporting nearly 800,000 20-foot equivalent units of goods. The railway network links 48 Chinese cities to 42 European cities in 14 countries.

By sea, China has signed maritime transportation agreements with 36 countries, as well as with the EU and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries.

China has also participated in the construction and operation of ports all over the world, such as Greece's Piraeus port and Hambantota Port of Sri Lanka.

Logistics information has been shared with 31 ports, and shipping services cover all coastal countries along the route.
