A food fiesta in Chenlaoqi Village, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has just begun.
Over 100 people, cooking around 40 traditional Xinjiang delicacies, will participate in the competition.
For the villagers, the best way to treat ingredients is to use the simplest cooking methods.
They place fresh fish on red meranti skewers and stick them standing upright in the ground so they form a circle over a barbecue fire.
The mouth-watering dishes in the competition include grilled fish, chicken soup, and fried dumplings along with roast lamb served as the main course.
