China, Oman announce establishment of strategic partnership

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Oman's Sultan Qaboos Bin Said jointly announced the establishment of Sino-Oman's strategic partnership on Friday.
Xi and Qaboos exchanged congratulatory messages on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In his message, Xi said China is willing to establish strategic partnership with Oman to elevate the ties between the countries.

This will lead the two sides to realize more achievements in the Belt and Road cooperation and safeguard the common interests of both sides in international and regional affairs, Xi added.
Qaboos responded that Oman is ready to establish and continuously strengthen the strategic partnership with China and converge Chinese and Oman's interests.
The Chinese president also pointed out during the past 40 years since China and Oman established diplomatic relations, the governments and people of the two countries have respected each other, treated each other on equal footing and forged deep friendships.
The bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative has achieved fruitful results, which have brought tangible benefits to the two nations and two peoples, Xi added.
Qaboos also said that Oman attaches great importance to developing relations with China and cherish the positive results of the friendly cooperation between the two countries in the past 40 years.
