A young man opened fire at the University of North Carolina's Charlotte campus on Tuesday, leaving two people dead and four others injured, according to city officials.

A local Fox television affiliate identified the two dead as male teenagers aged 17 and 18, information yet to be confirmed by the university.

Two among the four wounded sustained life-threatening injuries, local emergency services said.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has identified the shooter as 22-year-old Trystan Andrew Terrell whose motive remains unclear.
