Two pilots rescued after Su-34 fighter jets collide in Russia's Far East

Two pilots have been located and successfully rescued after a mid-air collision between two Su-34 fighter jets over the Sea of Japan, in Russia's Far East on Friday, local media reported, citing the country's defense ministry.
The conditions of both pilots are satisfactory, said the ministry.
Earlier, two Su-34 fighter-bombers accidentally collided at around 8:00 a.m. Moscow time (0500 GMT), while the two jets were performing a training flight.
Initial reports indicated that the crews managed to eject safely and both planes were not carrying ammunition.
An-12 and two Mi-8 helicopters were dispatched to search for the pilots in the area where they ejected shortly after the collision.
The Su-34 is Russia's multifunctional fighter-bomber which can attack air, ground, sea and surface targets. It first flew in 1990 and entered service in 2014 with the Russian Air Force.
