China beats DPRK 3-0 at women's team table tennis final of Asian Games

China claimed a 3-0 win over their opponents from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in the women's team table tennis final during the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta on Tuesday.

For the Chinese women's team, this was their 10th championship and also the fourth straight title since 2006 in the event during the Asian Games.

China's squad consisted of 23-year-old Zhu Yuling, 24-year-old Chen Meng, and 19-year-old Wang Manyu.

World number one Zhu gave her team a lead after defeating Kim Song I of DPRK 11-9, 11-8, 11-6 in the first match.

Chen continued the victory in the second match with a result of 11-6, 11-8, 14-12 over Cha Hyo Sim of the DPRK.

Later, Wang ended the third match with 11-5, 11-4, 11-7 against her opponent Kim Nam Hae, even though she encountered an 8-11 loss at the beginning.

"We five players had good communication with each other and our coach. That's the key to our win," said Zhu.

"I kept my patience despite difficulties in the match," she added.
