Two Chinese rescue teams, one from the Ministry of Transport and the other from charity, have arrived in Phuket to search for the missing passengers.
The teams are equipped with multi-beam radars and have been working closely with Thai rescue teams. They managed to get inside one of the sunken boats and search the hull for the first time.
One victim was found, but they failed to retrieve the body after three attempts. Chinese rescuers say they will continue to make efforts to bring their compatriots back home.
At least 42 people were confirmed dead, and 14 others remain missing after two boats capsized in a storm off southern Thailand's Phuket island, Thai officials said on Saturday.
