Beverage executive turns himself in after 17 years abroad

Yu Shanfu, the former vice president of China's beverage titan Guangdong Jianlibao Group, has turned himself in after fleeing China for nearly 17 years.
In 2000, Yu embezzled large amounts of state-owned assets by taking advantage of his position and also allegedly committed embezzlement.
He fled abroad in August 2002. In September the same year, Chinese prosecution organs filed his case for investigation.
