Five people died and four were injured following a gas explosion at a coal mine in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, local authorities said on Monday. The blast occurred when workers were sealing off the mouth of the pit. The explosion blew out the windows of several nearby buildings and residential houses, leaving the ground covered with broken glass and other debris.
