Food artist Prudence Staite spent 700 hours to make 1,800 handmade pies depicting a series of seven iconic UK scenes. The project was thought up to celebrate British Pie Week. /VCG Photo

The pies are made using shortcrust, puff and filo marvels and depict tourist attractions such as the Giant’s Causeway, Blackpool Tower and the Angel of the North. /VCG Photo

The UK scenes’ light and shade have strong contrast because the artist uses an egg wash for a golden color, a milk wash for a mid-shade and natural pastry for the paler hues. /VCG Photo
