Best flowers for dried arrangements

Dried flowers not only keep their natural beauty for a long time but also make excellent arrangements. Here are some popular flowers perfect for drying. 

Roses

Who doesn't love a rose? Common roses are great materials for dried flowers. When making dried flowers with roses, choose semi-bloomed flowers instead of flowers that are in full bloom. Tie the roses with a rope, invert and dry them.

Lavender

Lavenders are common plants that can be seen across the world. They are used as culinary herbs and for the extraction of essential oil. Lavender has a sleep-aiding effect.

They are also excellent for drying. Trim the lavenders and bundle them. Use the craft paper bag to wrap the lavenders. They need to be placed in a cool, ventilated place and protected from direct sunlight. They could be totally dry in a few weeks.

Yarrow

The plant belongs to the family of sunflowers. Its petals are flat umbrella-shaped. The blooms are usually small and white, but can also be other colors such as yellow and pink. They also emit a spicy and distinctive aroma. Yarrows are commonly used as dried flowers.

This is an expensive flower. At the same time, it is also very suitable for making dried flowers. The flowers are hard and the rods are thicker. They are widely distributed in South Africa. In order to preserve them, just put it in a vase and wait for it to air dry.

Strawflower is a drought-tolerant plant with blooms in bright colors such as red, yellow and white. The plant has long been used to decorate the rooms. It is also a popular flower to dry, but handle it with care since the  stems are quite delicate.

Sunflowers have big flower faces of yellow petals and brown centers. They are also excellent as dried flowers. Hang them up to dry in a cool and dark place such as a cabinet and closet. After two or three weeks, take them out of the closet and coat them with hairspray to preserve the shape and color of the flower.
