Sri Lankan authorities lifted a security alert at the central bank in the capital Colombo on Thursday after it was locked down following a warning about an impending explosion, reported Reuters citing two bank sources.
Earlier, there were reports that a blast was heard on Thursday from vacant land in the town of Pugoda, 40 km (25 miles) east of the capital Colombo.
There is no confirmation if it was linked to the Easter Sunday suicide bomber attacks on the island state that killed 359 people and wounded about 500.
