China's first ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission line for clean energy started construction at both of its ends – northwest China's Qinghai Province and central China's Henan Province – on November 8. UHV is regarded as the most advanced technology in electricity transmission. It can deliver large quantities of power over long distances with less power loss than the more commonly used lines.
