‍The 14th China-US Film Festival and China-US TV Festival has wrapped up on the US west coast. The four-day festival included award ceremonies and industry forums, but there are more activities ahead.
Held in Los Angeles, the 14th China-US Film Festival and China-US TV Festival handed out the best actor, best actress and most popular American film in China awards as part of Los Angeles' China-US Film Festival and China-US TV Festival.
“Over 14 years, the China-US Film Festival has witnessed the emergence and maturation of China's film industry and market,” said Su Yantao, organizer of the event, “The growth of the event has been closely geared to the development of China's film market. Its influence is proportional to that of Chinese culture. It is fair to say that Chinese cinema no longer has to take a back seat even in Hollywood.”

The rapid expansion of China's film market has had a major impact on the international film industry. With the greatest number of movie screens, China is increasingly the focus for American production companies. During the four-day event, over 300 deals were signed for co-productions across the Pacific Ocean, with the biggest draw being the mobile cinema program.
“The Mobile Cinema is a new manifestation of conventional movie viewing venues. It turns the cellphone screen into both the movie screen and projector. It multiplies the number of movie screens by over 20,000 times. You can download and install the app within minutes. And the titles available are all latest releases,” says Gao Qunyao, director of Mobile Cinema Program.
Over the month of November, the China-US Film Festival will screen 200 movies in cinemas across the United States.
