One person was killed and nine others injured in an explosion at a coking plant in the city of Nanchang, east China's Jiangxi Province, local authorities said.
Images from the scene showed thick plumes of smoke billowing from the plant after a gas pipe blew up.
Fire engines have been dispatched to the scene. All the wounded have been hospitalized.
Clean up operations are currently underway.
