Russian plane lands after hijacker demanding to divert to Afghanistan

A Russian Aeroflot flight SU1515 Tuesday landed at the airport of Khanty-Mansiysk after a man on board demanded to divert the plane to Afghanistan, the country's National Anti-Terrorism Committee confirmed.
The Boeing 737, with 75 people on board, was traveling from Surgut to Moscow and safely landed. 
The 41-year-old man, who was mentally unstable with multiple criminal records, has been detained.
The man could be charged with hijacking, according to Russian law. 
Police have been dispatched to the scene. No casualties have been reported.
