Tens of thousands of swans spend the winter in the 'City of Swans'
Every winter, a great number of whooper swans come from Siberia to spend their winter at Sanmenxia Swan Lake State Urban Wetland Park in Sanmenxia City, central China's Henan Province.
Whooper swans' legs cannot support their body as they grow into adults, so they need large areas of water to live in. They spend a lot of time swimming and foraging on the water. Sanmenxia wetland is fed by the Yellow River with abundant resources.
