It has become a trend in China for drivers like to put a doll on the roof of their car to attract people’s attention. However, due to safety issues it is illegal and the traffic police have been reinforcing the regulation. The reporter learned on that traffic police has already started a penalty model on Wednesday in Suzhou, east China’s Jiangsu Province, to curb such a practice. According to the Chinese traffic law, any violation would face two points deducted (12 points total) and 50 yuan (8 US dollars) in fine.

A small number of drivers pursued individuality and liked to attach a striking doll on the roof to make it easier to find a car in the parking. After a period of time, more and more drivers feel that it is cool and followed suit, and they have made an omnipotent work on the roof including famous and popular cartoons characters Minions, Spider-Man, Iron Man and more, which have aroused widespread concern among netizens.
The traffic police noticed this issue and have reminded the drivers on social platforms that the drivers’ behavior is illegal. Although these dolls look good, they easily distract the drivers’ attention when they are driving and have a serious impact for traffic safety.
According to the Chinese "Road Traffic Safety Law" for "Regulations on Registration of Motor Vehicles", drivers are not allowed to change vehicle's appearance and relevant registered technical data. Anyone who violates such stipulation will be fined less than 500 yuan (79 US dollars).

The traffic police announced that they had carried out special rectifications on vehicle's outer decoration on Saturday. A total of 10 drivers were caught for law violation on that single day, followed by punishment later. A white car, driven by a middle-aged women was found carrying a Spider-Man doll on the roof.
The female driver said that Spider-Man doll was bought from the Internet. She hung the doll up on the roof just a few days and only for fun. She did not know that this was an illegal act. She had two points deducted and fined of 50 yuan (8 US dollars).
